Area Law Enforcement
Around 50 automobiles have been smeared with what seems to be blood from a person in the Germany's municipality of Hanau near Frankfurt, according to law enforcement.
Automobiles, exterior walls and mailboxes were marked, sometimes with swastikas, they stated in a statement.
Law enforcement state they were contacted late on Wednesday, when a man noticed that a car in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been marked with a red-colored substance.
The fluid had been drawn in the pattern of a banned symbol, they added.
Officers then found many other vandalized automobiles and building exteriors in the nearby vicinity.
These symbols are illegal in Germany under legislation banning the public exhibition of Nazi symbols.
Law enforcement state initial examinations suggest the fluid was most likely human bodily fluid.
"Currently there is no lead as to its origin; authorities are currently not informed of any harm in relation with the occurrence," they commented.
Municipal representatives said they were trying "to unravel the case" and have requested to the public for tips.
An important representative stated the vandalism rendered him speechless and needed to be solved quickly.
"This act affects the center of Hanau and reopens the trauma of the right-wing terrorist attack half a decade ago," he stated on online, mentioning the murder of nine victims by a gunman aiming at residents of foreign heritage in 2020.
